Robert founded Chaparral Professional Land Surveying, Inc. in 1995 and serves as President of the corporation. Robert has over twenty-five (25) years of Land Surveying experience, much of which has been supporting Civil Engineering and Land Development Projects in Central Texas.
Robert has guided Chaparral Land Surveying in its growth from a two-man operation to one of the largest, most reputable firms in this area with 30+ employees. He directs all aspects of the surveying operation, and is also Project Manager for many of our firm’s largest clients.
Continuing education and advancement of the surveying profession are very important to Robert, and he has long had a policy of encouraging employees to seek higher education and professional development.

Dave has been a Chaparral employee for seven years and a project manager since becoming registered in January, 2001. Dave has over twenty-three (23) years of experience in the Civil Engineering and Land Surveying field, much of which has been supporting Civil Engineering and Land Development Projects throughout the states of Texas and California.
Dave received his A.A.S. in Geomatics/Land Surveying Technologies in 2002, has ongoing classes at Texas State University, and is an active member of TSPS.

Clark has been a Chaparral employee for over eight years and a project manager since becoming registered in January, 2006 and has been involved in the surveying industry since 1994.
Clark received a B.S. in Geography from Southwest Texas State University in 1993.

James has been a project manager at Chaparral for one (1) year, and has over nine (9) years experience in the land surveying business. He has spent much of his career specializing in commercial and large residential projects. James has a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin in Economics and Mathematics.
James is an active member of TSPS, and is currently serving as Chairman of the Certified Survey Technician Committee. James is also a speaker at TSPS educational seminars and is active in course development.

Originally from New Orleans, Steven has been at Chaparral for a total of five (5) years, taking a break in-between to survey in southwest Colorado and in Oregon and the Northwest.
Steven attended the University of Texas at Austin on two academic scholarships and earned a B.B.A. in Management in 1991, and earned his S.I.T. designation in 2002.
One of Steven’s greatest professional challenges (to date) came from working on a field crew through several mountainous states while not being comfortable at all with heights.

Joby became a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in December 2007. He has been at Chaparral Land Surveying for much of his surveying career, working his way from Technician to SIT to Project Manager.
He has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, and an A.A.S. in Drafting Technology from Paris Junior College.

Eric has been in land surveying in Austin since 1994, and with Chaparral since 1998. In 1997, he received an A.A.S. in Land Surveying Technology from Austin Community College; and in 2004, he was recognized as a Surveyor in Training in the State of Texas.
Currently a senior at Texas State University – San Marcos, he is pursuing a B.A. in Philosophy and plans a career as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor.

Sharon Watts serves as Vice-President of Chaparral Land Surveying and co-owns the company with her husband Robert. She is responsible for company matters concerning Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology.
Sharon received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981.
